Stimulating language at an early age will enhance children’s intellectual and communicative abilities, serving as a tool that allows them to achieve satisfactory academic performance, forming the foundation for all subsequent knowledge.
Children absorb language and its structure through interaction with their parents or caregivers. To effectively stimulate language development, we recommend:
Exposing children to environmental sounds.
Talking to them at any time of the day, during daily routines, while sharing games, during walks in the park, etc.
Speaking to them slowly, clearly, and always seeking eye contact.
Paying attention when they speak and showing genuine interest.
Reading many stories, singing songs, encouraging them to learn rhymes and poetry to expand their vocabulary.
When a child points to something, motivating them to produce short sentences to enhance grammatical structure.
It is not advisable to expose them to screens, as they do not promote interaction.
By fostering language development, children will feel more secure, become more autonomous, and promote socio-affective bonds with their peers.
